W.C. Porter is a 4th generation family owned and operated insurance company.   Started with William (Billy) E. Porter who sold life insurance for Manufacturer’s Life Insurance.   Our earliest record of his life insurance career dates back to 1921.   Billy’s son, Waldron (Wally) C. Porter, took over the business and introduced general insurance products in 1947.   Wally’s son-in-law, Lew Pelkey, joined the business in 1985 and purchased the business in 1990.   Lew’s son, Paul, joined the office in 1998 and bought it in 2002.

     We deal with five major insurance companies:  Economical Mutual Insurance since 1947, Aviva Insurance since 1950, Pembridge Insurance since 2005, Portage Mutual Insurance since 1980, and Angus Miller Ltd. since 1950.
